Strong People, Healthy Living
THE AIM OF THE BINIMAL AAMBOORINY, STRONG PEOPLE HEALTHY LIVING STRATEGY IS TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND WIDER DAMPIER PENINSULA.
This strategy/policy was developed to ensure that all Health and other Service Providers who come into the community must work with DAC to provide services that are culturally appropriate and fit within the framework of our 20 Year Strategic Plan, to deliver outcomes that are meaningful and integrated into OUR vision for our future. DAC will not support programs that refuse to work under our strategy which includes working collaboratively with other health and service providers in the community. We will no longer support services that work in silos; services must work with DAC on our overall strategy and put our community first when delivering a program or activity in Djarindjin.
This policy aligns with DAC's core objectives, good health and good governance, improving quality of life, protecting culture and country, self-empowerment, and determination with a focus on capacity building. DAC will provide training for health and other service providers to understand and respect the cultural practices and values of the Djarindjin community. Service providers must engage with DAC and the community to understand our health needs and preferences; we demand a grass roots approach, and we will not be dictated to by a top down ethos.
We aim to establish formal agreements with health providers that outline the expectations and responsibilities aligned with the Binimal Aambooriny Strong People Healthy Living Strategy.

Biminal Aambooriny is designed to create a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in health and wellbeing service delivery, bottom up, not top down.

The effectiveness of programs/activities delivered in community must be measured and evidence provided that the community actually understands the program, along with evidence of outcomes.
The policy empowers community members to advocate for their own health and wellbeing needs and ensure these needs are being met by the providers.
We work with health and other service providers to develop long-term plans for sustainable health and wellbeing services.
With the Biminal Aambooriny Strategy, DAC has created a robust framework that ensures all outside health and other service providers work effectively, leading to better health and wellbeing outcomes for the community. The success of this strategy relies on active participation, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the community's health and well-being.
