Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) owns and operates its own community supermarket, it is the only indigenous owned and operated supermarket in the region. All other community supermarkets have been taken over and operated by larger business enterprise.
We pride ourselves in providing fresh fruit and vegetables, and all other condiments that you would find in any ordinary supermarket. For many years the supermarket suffered from previous store managers not running the store appropriately and the store was continually being financially propped up by the organisation. The store is now turning over an excellent profit and can support itself as an ongoing business enterprise for the community.
In the near future we will be providing Al Fresco Dining at the front of the store for community members and tourists to have a meal in the evening.
We as a an organisation and community are very proud of our Community Store.
